How You Can Help Chilliwack Restaurants Survive the COVID-19 Ban on Indoor Dining
With sweeping government restrictions on indoor dining across BC, restaurant owners and guests have been left in a panic after immediate closures have been enforced.
Starting at midnight March 30, indoor dining in BC will be banned for at least 3 weeks until April 19, 2021.
Here are the top 5 ways you can support local restaurants in Chilliwack:
Order Takeout Direct
Order takeout directly from your favourite restaurant and pick it up yourself. Food delivery apps may offer the option for you to order and pick up your food through the app, but you can help restaurants skip the fees by going old school and simply giving them a call to place your order.

Support Local Chilliwack Restaurants!
I’m pretty sure we all thought we were in the clear and past the point of shutting down restaurants. It’s even more frustrating that these restaurant closures are expected to happen overnight when staff has already been booked, food has been prepped, dinner reservations made.
Drive-thrus and big businesses will continue to thrive while our neighbours and small business owners will struggle over the next 3 weeks. In fact, this closure means some restaurants will end up closing permanently.
Let’s do our best to support our Chilliwack neighbours who keep us well fed. Forget the drive-thrus. Tim Hortons and McDonalds will still be around. They don’t need our help.
Consider where else you can get your next burger or coffee and help support local businesses instead! I promise it will taste much better, and you’ll be helping support the local Chilliwack economy.
