Some neighborhoods have more restaurants available for delivery than others, most likely due to distance. When you visit the DoorDash website, you’ll see a total number of restaurants after you type in your address and you can browse through them from there.

You can get your delivery asap or schedule it for a later date and/or time with half hour windows to choose from.

Remember, that different restaurants will have different hours of operation which are indicated on the restaurant’s page. The restaurant will also indicate if it’s currently not available for delivery if they are too busy, in which case you won’t be able to schedule a later delivery time at checkout.

Accepting Chilliwack Food Delivery from DoorDash

We ordered a decadent sushi dinner for 6 people from Tokyo Grill. We went with the Tokyo Boat platter, a chicken teriyaki dinner box, and an Explosion roll. Check out this spread!

 

The Tokyo Boat offered a lot of variety and was definitely the way to go for a family dinner. It came with:

• California roll
• 10 pieces of sashimi
• 8 pieces of sushi
• 6 pieces of gyozas
• Vegetable and prawn tempura
• Chicken karaage
• Four miso soups.

And to make sure no one went hungry, we also ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner box which came with:

• Chicken (or beef) teriyaki
• 5 pieces of tempura
• Garden salad
• 4 pieces of California roll
• 4 pieces of dynamite roll
• Miso soup
• Sunomono
• Rice
• 4 gyozas

Our scheduled delivery time was for between 6:15 and 6:45 p.m. I was pleasantly surprised when the delivery arrived at 6:15 on the dot. Everything I ordered arrived fresh and the delivery was accurate.

The food is packaged in takeout containers you’d normally see with takeout orders. Your DoorDash driver will deliver your order in a temperature-controlled DoorDash bag which they’ll take back right away.

DoorDash also delivers to apartments and workplaces. You can add your apartment or suite number at the checkout page.

And you don’t need to be home or even answer the door to accept your delivery. The checkout page allows you to check off a “leave it at my door” option for contactless delivery, or you can add your own delivery instructions.

If you want to stay up to date on your delivery, in the app go to your Account page, scroll to Notifications to turn your notifications on for the app, and then text START to 867-670-8250.

You can also go to your account profile on the browser and check off “receive order status updates via text”.

By the time you’ve paid for DoorDash service fees, taxes and a tip you can expect to add upwards of 25 to 30% to your food bill.

Can You Get Free Food Delivery in Chilliwack?

Yes! Some of the restaurants available on DoorDash offer free food delivery (i.e. Burger King, Pizza Hut, KFC, Papa John’s), so be on the lookout when you’re browsing. The website will specify at the top of the restaurant page.

What is DashPass?

When I placed my DoorDash order, I noticed they were advertising to sign up for “DashPass”. This is $9.99 a month and gives you free delivery for any restaurant with the DashPass checkmark.

You can sign up for a free trial to get a discount on your current order, and then cancel before your trial expires to save a few extra dollars.

Do You Tip with DoorDash?

DoorDash automatically adds a 15% suggested tip at checkout. However, you can change this and tip as much or as little as you want.

Drivers do see the tips before they accept your order and 100% of the chips go to the driver which are always appreciated.

Some people choose to tip cash upon the driver’s arrival, but this is optional.

Is Restaurant Food More Expensive on DoorDash?

DoorDash is brand new to Chilliwack, having just launched on August 26th, 2020 and has quickly become Skip the Dishes’s main competitor. So you might notice a lot of the same restaurants are listed on both Skip the Dishes and DoorDash, so make sure to check the delivery fees and coupons to see where you can save the most.

Is There a Minimum Order Requirement with DoorDash?

No, not with a regular account. However, the DashPass account has a minimum order requirement of $12.

What Payment Types Does DoorDash Accept?

DoorDash accepts major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express, as well as Virtual Visa Debit, PayPal, referral credits, and gift cards.

How Does DoorDash Chilliwack Food Delivery Work?

Just sign up for a free DoorDash account to start browsing Chilliwack restaurants that deliver and get food delivered within the hour!

You can filter the results on the website by what you’re looking for (i.e., chicken, pizza, dessert, etc.) or the star rating, delivery time, whether you’re vegetarian, or the cost. Each restaurant has clear photos of their dishes with an ingredients list, and some restaurants even have the calories indicated.

If your order can’t be fulfilled by the restaurant you can choose what the merchant should do: Either go with the merchant recommendation, refund that item, contact you, or cancel the whole order.

Ordering online is really easy too. You can add your payment method in advance so you don’t have to worry about leaving a tip at the door. Everything is prepaid. You can also save multiple addresses on your account and select the one you want delivery for with each order.

DoorDash even allows you to place a group order which makes ordering with friends and family easy. Share your group order link with others. They can add their favorite items. Check-out and get it all delivered together.

You can also opt to use DoorDash’s “Pickup” feature on your way home.

One thing I noticed with both DoorDash and Skip the Dishes was not all of the restaurants have their entire menu available. This can be frustrating because if you’re looking at a takeout menu and then expecting to place that order you might find that the item you want isn’t available for delivery.
